Buffet’s Berkshire Side-By-Side

Boring, dividend-paying, having a moat, large-capitalization, inexpensive stocks – these are the words that come to mind when looking at Warren Buffet’s BRK-A portfolio. It is actually reminiscent of Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust portfolio, but with even less technology, growth, and high-fliers. Check out the low volatility numbers.

I’ve not provided the numbers below, but when looking at how ‘cheap’ this portfolio is (comparing EPS growth to the PE ratio) it looks quite cheap. Warren does not pay up for stocks. Every single stock, save one, pays a dividend. There is a lesson there folks. Hopefully this portfolio will inspire you. Boring is beautiful, or should I say, profitable… over time.

My source for the stock listings is here. This page is updated regularly.

There are two stocks in Warren’s portfolio that have reached potential short term buy points – General Electric and Exxon Mobil. Their QoQ charts are included at the bottom of this article.

Earnings are approaching rapidly for: COST, Costco. Check out the potential earnings bounce for this company here.

General Electric has come in a bit, so now would be a good time to get in if you are bullish. The same for XOM, though Exxon’s ramp up was a bit steep for my liking. It looks as if its channel may be broken, see the chart below.
